Exhuming technically proficient and progressive metal, BORN OF OSIRIS exerted a seismic impact on heavy music with its trend-setting 2007 debut The New Reign only to shake things up even more on The Discovery in 2011. However, once again, the critically acclaimed Chicago six-piece will be setting a new paradigm with its highly anticipated fourth full-length album for Sumerian Records.Teaming up with acclaimed producers Joey Sturgis [The Devil Wears Prada, Emmure] and Nick Sampson, the group is primed to explode like never before, manipulating 6-string and 7-string guitars on the same recording diversifying their writing and pushing their boundaries further than ever before.Lee McKinney (guitars) states: We were more focused for the writing of this record than any of our previous efforts. We've had 2+ years to write, critique, adjust and learn these songs, which is just something we haven't had in the past with our intense touring schedule. All of us living together and constantly feeding off eachother's energy made for the best and most focused BORN OF OSIRIS album to date.BORN OF OSIRIS are mature well beyond their years and this dynamic progressive juggernaut has now perfectly honed all of their collective talents to create what will soon be a pinnacle release for the metal genre. Asta Nielsen, born in Denmark in 1881, was the first diva of European silent film. To realize her artistic vision she founded her own company, Art-Film, in 1920. Her production of Hamlet, produced that same year, features a female Hamlet character and initially survived only in a black-and-white US export version. A colored vintage print of the lost German original version of 1921 was discovered in 2005. The restored film had its premiere at the Berlinale in 2007, with new musical accompaniment composed by Michael Riessler (Source: Edition Filmmuseum).

Johnny Winter Allstar Band: Tribute to Blues-Rock Great
One of Rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarists of All Time, blues-rocker Johnny Winter recently passed away. Now, to celebrate Winter's birthday, his old band is hitting the stage at the Regent Theatre as the Johnny Winter Allstar Band. Crafting a unique style that melded British blues-rock and American Southern rock, Winter rocketed to fame in the late '60s with blazing live shows at gigs like Woodstock. Throughout the '70s and '80s, he was the unofficial torchbearer for the blues, with blazing renditions of songs like "Johnny B. Goode," "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" and "Hustled Down in Texas." He also championed the careers of his idols like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. Leading the Blues Foundation Hall of Famer's band is guitarist Paul Nelson, who toured the world with Winter and recorded on and produced his final album, Step Back, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart and took home a Grammy. Fellow band member James Montgomery lends his vocal and harmonica chops for the evening. Plus, you'll get a sneak preview of the upcoming documentary Johnny Winter: Down & Dirty.
